With just one Specter Shield (Lite), you can manage multiple smart cards. This allows you to store multiple seeds extremely securely on the interchangeable secure elements.
Smartcard usage option 1: encrypted (recommended)
If you have encrypted your seed phrase with the secure element of the smart card, it can only be decrypted again with the Specter Shield, which was used to encrypt the words, and the corresponding PIN.
If the wrong PIN is entered 10 times in a row, the key stored on the smartcard is deleted, rendering the smartcard unusable. This protects against brute force attacks.
In this case, you should then Paper or Steel Backup where you can restore your Bitcoin seed phrase.
Smartcard usage option 1: plain text
Optionally, the Bitcoin seed phrase can also be stored less securely on the smartcard so that it can be read with any Specter Shield.
This option should only be selected if you deliberately do not want to encrypt the seed phrase.
